Paper planner vs digital planner
I started this blog post back in Feb 2020....but we all know what happened. By March we didn't need planners as we all had nothing going on.
I used to be an all paper planner type of girl but over the years (and working for a software company) I have moved to all digital. I miss my paper planner so had begun looking into bullet journals. I thought this would be perfect to get me back into paper planners as it was a very creative way to track events and many other things going on in my life.
In 2019 I tried to start a bullet journal several times. I struggled with what I wanted to track, how I wanted to track it and how I wanted to organize the journal. Basically I just couldn't make up my mind and then just gave up. Too much work to track things that would end up just being the past. Why do I want to focus on the past and be reminded of things I could no longer change or get back.
This made me think about why I was so interested in how I was feeling or how much exercise or water I drank on a specific day. Why do I care about that? What I want to focus on is the now. I can't change the past or go back and eat healthy, or change what our family did or didn't do. I need to focus on the now ~ today. We need to understand the past is the past and only now we can work on the future and where we want to be.
I now use a digital calender for our family events to ensure we get to where we need to go. Well for the events that are now back on.....thanks goodness! I have missed organized sports. (With COVD safty measures in place.)
I am no longer consumed about what I didnt do or missed out on. I am working on enjoying my life and shaping it for the future. I ensure we have time on our calenders for family time or days when we can just hop in the truck for an adventure. If I want to eat junk food and pizza all day or lounge around the pool and have an adult beverage I will not think twice about it. Life is a journey and mine has many bumps in the road just like everyone else. I don't need a calendar to record these bumps.
I still take many pictures of our family during our adventures to have them to look back on. (Do I print them out? Nope but that is another struggle) It is these memories that I want to remember. Not the bumps in the road.
My life is tracked today by my memories and photographs. My calendar is to ensure I have a good balance of time used wisely. There is no perfect method of managing life as everyones is different. My wish to you is please make the most out of today, enjoy the moments (good/bad) and ensure you soak it all in along the way. Its your life and you only get one of them. Darn cats are so lucky they get nine lives. 🤣🤣🤣
I like the work which you have placed in this article. This data is significant and superb. I might want to thank you for sharing this article here. Digital Planner
