Come together with faith, love and hope.

I wish we would fill all of our social media with positive thoughts, actions and good deeds of others. I love everyone and believe we have all had our struggles just in different ways. I have no idea what it is like to be of another color or from another country. I am a white girl who grew up in ND where there was still racism and hatred and bad thoughts from generations on down. Growing up my parents did a great job at explaining the history of things, why people said different words/phrases in the past for people and they tought me why it was wrong. I was tought to treat everyone equally with no prejudice or judgment. You truly cannot tell a book by its cover and that is the same thing with people. Now at 40 I have been seeing so much hate and division between the races and I feel it has to due with media influence that started a good 10 years ago. It could be more but it seems like there was a time back when that the media and people in general did not bring race into a situation. You were held accountable for your actions because of what you did not what color you were. Now that being said I also agree that there are bad apples out there that are doing bad things. I have seen this in school teachers, faith leaders, parents, bosses, strangers, basically all over. Thing is no one is perfect but if we start to lump everyone together into one catagory, police, blacks, whites then we are now being judgemenat and saying every white person, black person or police are bad. I know that is not the case. There are truly more good people out there doing their jobs and living their lives with pride, equality and just doing good around the world. Why are we not highlighting these good people to show our children good examples of how it should be in the world and not concentrate on the bad examples. We cannot have our kids growing up as only seeing the negative in the world. Let's show the the helpers, the good in this world so they can take that good and make it grow and have more good in the world. My family have had lots of discussions about the current events that have been going on and the after affects of some people after the event. The more we can talk about the situation the more we can learn and grow as humans. My kids have had some great questions and responses to things. It makes me feel like I am helping them see things in this world with open eyes and have the ability to learn from these things. I have friends of different color, religion and country who I have been thinking and praying for as our nation is going through some rough times of hate right now and they should not have to worry in these times but they do. I also have friends in law enforcement and the military who I am also praying for as they are being targeted by hate right now for doing their jobs.  So I am asking all of my friends to search inside and think carefully about what you post on social media as everyone has their own opinions on every situation and no ones opinion is more important than another person's opinion. I respect others opinions that are not the same as mine as that is their opinion. A persons opinion is not suposed to change anyone's mind it is just a thought of theirs. That is the great thing about America, we are the land of the free that was founded by a large melting pot of races and faith that grew together as a country to support us as Americans. It took America a while to get there and over time there were many bad actions along the way but we came together as one country and grew from each mistake. Today my prayers are to help us as a nation to open our hearts, remove hatred for others and help us heal together loving everyone equally. The only way I know how to do this is show love, kindness and support to my friends, neighbors and strangers each and ever day. Please let kindness lead you moving forward as that is how we will come together as a nation.
