1st attempt - Clay for Couples

Ryan and I did our first clay for couples class at the Plaint Art Museum. We have been working on doing different date nights and not the same thing all the time. You know dinner and a movie, just dinner, then it turns into grocery shopping or something as your date. So last year I started getting tickets to the FMCT (our local community theater that we have.) That's a lot of fun but I finally was able to talk Ryan into doing something artsy/crafty. So the clay class we did is our first of 3 nights I have scheduled for us. 

The class was a lot of fun, great teacher and simple project to make. We made one wine chiller and two glasses out of clay. Ryan had a lot of fun....but I'll tell you something....dont bring a guy with OCD to make a clay project. He could have spent days there trying to make his cup perfect. He did agree to leave it alone once the class ended. Phew, thought I would never get him out of there LoL. 

I had forgotten how much I missed doing things like this. Brought me back to college when I had a full studio to use. Wish I had one in my house. Maybe one day. I am looking forward to getting our peices back in about 6-8 weeks from this class. Here is a picture before the glass and firing. Not too bad for Ryan and I. The instructor really loved Ryan's cup! 

So excited for next time....we will be making coffee cups.
