Day # 14...Halloween

Image
My Hubby took this picture this morning during our coffee before the kiddos get up. Chester looked so cute he couldn't resist snapping a picture.

Got busy this weekend. Day 13

Image
You will notice I skipped Day 12....I completely forgot to take a picture. But Friday Day 13....I remembered.  Day 13 I had been busy working in the garage and doing house projects. I decided to take a selfie that described how I felt on Friday. Frazzled! It was a day I had taken off to get some projects done around the house. Guess what not one of the things I had planned on getting done got done. Go figure huh.  Looking back on the day I reflect on what I did accomplish. I spent the morning having coffee with the hubby, got the kids to school...err...distant learning. Then we took a leisurely  drive around the country...well a 40 min drive one way to pick up our quarter cow. But to us thats a leisurely drive....and a few muddy roads with the Jeep. I ran into the in-laws at Menards and had a nice chat. Dont see them enough during this COVID crap. I also found some blinds for our last window upstairs.  Now these are all very small things but each of these...

Persistence pays off

Image
I had taken my ring off last year when we started our remodle project. A few weeks ago I tried to get it on again and it wouldn't go. I was heartbroken and refused to go in to get it resized. But after a few weeks of trying I got it to go on! How you ask? Well I didn't diet, I didn't stretch it, I loaded my fingers with lotion and shoved. Now it may never come off again....but feel so much better to be wearing my wedding ring again. Silly I know but its important to me.

Day # 11...almost forgot.

Image
I love nighttime. It is my chance to sink into bed and let everything go for the day. I give all my worries to God for the night and ask for his guidance and strength for the day ahead.

Day # 10....Reflections

Image
How does your social media delpict your life? Have you ever scrolled through your page and look at it if you didn't know that person? I do this every now and then. It helps to reflect on the events that has passed. A long time ago I decided that my social media pages should show real life. No on is perfect, no one has a perfect life, or a perfect family, etc... However in making this decision to highlight our true life and our experiences it goes outside of what we try and teach our kids about first impressions. I am not saying anything I post is bad, offensive or mean. I am just saying imagine you are going for a new job, one of your children's friends parents are trying to know more about you. How are they going to react to a not "perfect" post? I hope that people are using more than social media to get to know others these days. It is hard to portray the real you via your social media as people interpret words/pictures differently and don't know the...

Daily selfie challenge.

Image
I started a daily selfie challenge with myself. I thought it would be cool to look back and see how I change over the year. I really hope I can remember to take a selfie each day. But here goes. I started a few days ago so will make sure I post those.  Here is day ones picture.

How do you support your hubby in their career/passions?

Image
We all have our own ways to support our significant others in their careers and their passions. It is amazing to see how couples work together to build each other up in life. In our relationship we have had our career ups and downs and have been there supporting each other through it all. This support works best if you each find your strengths and likes in life. You need to use these together to your advantage. One that has come out lately is me helping with Ryans real estate page to create content for his site. It has been really fun to be able to use my creative mind, along with things on the internet to highlight his personality and his business values and message to his clients. It is a true match of our skills as a couple. Keep working hard together to help each other succeed in life. It is a lovely sight to see others...especially the ones you love...succeed.

Love is all the world needs.

Keep sharing your faith in your everyday life.

FAITH IN CHANGE

Be Prepared.

My hubby says I overpack for any trip. Even just to run a quick errand. It never fails the he needs something that I have packed. Always be prepared for anything. 😀 I think I need to add more accessories to my Jeep.

Friday!

Relaxing Friday in the home office getting caught up on projects.  Letting your hair down to cover your Surface earbuds. Classic!

Reasons your wedding ring doesn't fit.

Image
Life is the true answer here...dont look at these as negatives in your life. Im okay with my wedding ring not fitting as I have had lots of amazing experiences along the way. 1. Kids 2. Stress 3. Home renovation 4. Eating all the yummy things that come my way 5. Being lazy..er...enjoying my time in quarantine? We can still blame never going to the gym on this shutdown right??? 6. Having the extra time to cook delicious things for my family 7. Getting older 8. Joints getting bigger 9. Never wearing my ring 10. Not wanting to shove it on and find out I now need someone to cut it off ☹

Easy Apple Dumplings

Image

Easy Apple Dumplings....finally fall.

Image
APPLE DUMPLINGS I made another yummy dish tonight for dessert ~ apple dumplings. Thankfully the hubby brought home chicken from KFC for supper so I decided to try a Pintrest recipie. I made a few changes but mostly followed the recipie.  Apple dumplings remind me of my Grandma. When she was in an assisted living facility they had Apple Dumpling Days every fall. I tried to make apple dumplings a while ago and they never came close to these apple dumplings from this place. Until I found this recipie online. And bonus....its really easy to make!  Preheat oven to 350 Grease 9x13 cake pan Dumplings: 2 apples (cut and pealed into 8 wedges) 2 rolls crescent rolls * Roll each wedge up into one triangle of the crescent roll and place in the pan.  Sauce: 1.5 cups brown sugar 2 sticks butter 1 teaspoon cinnamon  Vanilla Pop (I used diet Mt.Dew) * Melt together in saucepan on low until butter melts. Continue stirring until sauce thickens.  * Pour sauce over dump...

Traditions

Image
I have always been a big believer in keeping your heritage alive and in your everyday life. This is a large part of who you are in life. Over the years I have received our families cooking tools and recipies to make some yummy favorites.  The amazing thing about heritage is that once you get married you inherite a whole second family of traditions. I have enjoyed learning my husband's heritage and traditions. Now the fun begins as you learn how to blend both of your traditions together to make YOUR family traditions. We have been doing this for almost 18 years now. Our goal is to ensure these traditions get passed to our three children.  This has been a fun journey doing this and they have learned a lot. My thoughts now as I only have a few years left with all three at home is how to wrap all of this tradition together so that when our kids leave the house to start their own lives and families down the road that they would have this amazing care package of traditions. It is fu...
