Whole 30 ~ UMMMM What am I doing?

I can never do a diet for longer than a few weeks, Same with getting into an exercise routine. My hubby loves my passion and ability to jump into try things but he always say I go too hard, too fast. Don't tell him but he is correct in this statement. We both know we do not have the best eating habits and over eat.  Food is something we love, we both grew up with food being the centerpiece of anything in our life: family gatherings, birthdays, accomplishments, sports wins, or just a Tuesday night. Family always gathered around the table with grandparents, aunts, uncles, or friends...that's how we socialized in North Dakota. You think back to your grandparents and you know exactly what they would have on the table for that occasion.  We ended 2021 talking about making a change in what we ate, not really a diet. Starting again.....and again....and again....UGH.

Today I decided yet again to try and get healthy and drop a few pounds. I am on a continual cycle of start - stop - start- stop over and over for the past 20+ years. This time I will try the baby step approach. When I dive right in hardcore I seem to burn out too easily.  Today I started my morning off with a walk and my latte. I did a little over a mile walk with some incline off and on. I did have three lattes but these have almond milk instead of my normal coffee creamer. This momma needs her morning coffee!  Then I just upgraded to a standing desk and decided to stand on a BOSU ball. I ended up using that for 3 hours during work. I know it's not a lot of exercise but it's better than just sitting on my but all day long.  Tomorrow will be another day to continue moving toward a more healthy body. 

Monday Morning Thoughts

Its 30 days until our vacation. I have lost maybe 2 pounds since January. I am not unhappy with that. A few weeks ago we purchased a treadmill and I have been using that and I feel so much better. I have more energy, feel lighter and less sluggish. Mentally I am in a good place with my body, I don't worry so much about the size or shape that I am but how I feel. It is amazing at how much just being active helps your body and mind. This quarenteen and working from home this past year helped me see how active I was a year ago compared to now. My goal now is to ensure I feel healthy, not stress about any number on the scale and enjoy life. Don't deny yourself that delicious dish just enjoy it in moderation.
